CHIP is the Coronary Health Improvement Project, an educationally-based lifestyle intervention program. Join the 40,000+ people who have learnt the principles to achieve and maintain better health. Commencing in Canada in 1988, it has spread to USA, Germany, India and Australia. New Zealand, Singapore and Africa now also have trained CHIP Facilitators.
In 30+ hours of factual and compelling instruction, CHIP establishes the principle of health as an absolute necessity rather than a trendy option. This outstanding course has attracted participants from as far away as Bunbury, Manjimup, Albany, Esperance, Adelaide and Melbourne. CHIP will not only show you why we need to make better lifestyle choices but also how to stop the 'good life' from killing us.
CHIP is based on the foundation that, according to the U.S. Surgeon General, 70%* of our Western diseases are "lifestyle-related." They relate to our rich diet, our lack of exercise, our use of cigarettes, alcohol, and caffeine, our level of stress, and the quality of our support. The diseases include: heart disease, stroke, hypertension, diabetes, gout, arthritis, overweight, certain adult cancers, impotence, diverticular disease, constipation, heartburn, and gall bladder disease.

History
The CHIP program was born in the winter of 1988 when founder/presenter, Dr Hans Diehl, was invited to conduct a four-week lifestyle change program in Creston, British Columbia, a community of about 5,000.
Some 400 people accepted the challenge to take responsibility for their health and became founding members of the first CHIP program. Following the Creston experience, Dr Diehl went on to conduct numerous CHIP programs in Canada, India, Australia and the United States. Because he cannot respond to all the invitations for live CHIP programs, Dr. Diehl decided to produce the CHIP presentations on video that is now used around the world very effectively.

Hans A. Diehl, DrHSc, MPH, FACN, CNS
Founder-Director, Coronary Health Improvement Project (CHIP) |
Dr Hans Diehl is Director of the Lifestyle Medicine Institute of Loma Linda, California. His pioneering efforts with Nathan Pritikin and Dr Denis Burkitt have shown conclusively that many of today's diseases are truly reversible through some simple lifestyle changes. As a National Institutes of Health supported research fellow in cardiovascular epidemiology at Loma Linda University, Dr Diehl evaluated the impact of the Pritikin Longevity Center where he directed the research and health education departments.
As a post-doctoral scholar at the School of Public Health of the University of California in Los Angeles, he contributed to the establishment of the UCLA Center for Health Enhancement.
Dr Diehl holds a doctorate in Health Science with emphasis on Lifestyle Medicine, and a master's degree in Public Health Nutrition from Loma Linda University. As a best selling author, researcher, dynamic speaker & top-ranking motivator, he has lectured to corporations and governments and has presented seminars on four continents.
His research has been published in peer review journals and medical textbooks showing that most people with essential hypertension, Type 2 Diabetes, elevated cholesterol, and with heart disease can reverse these diseases and often become drug-free within weeks by simplifying their customary lethal Western diet. In addition, overweight people learn how to eat more and lose weight on a permanent basis.
Dr Diehl was recently chosen by a national health magazine as one of America's 20 super-heroes in the health movement.
